Further to speculation about the reserve/under 21's team, Tony Burman has announced today that unfortunately after discussions between Paul Hennessy, The Board of Directors and Tony, it is felt that the level of the league and facilities were not upto the standard of football that leads to the required development of our younger players.
One of the options which Tony considered with Paul was to look at the possibility of playing in the Kent Premier Division as advised by their Officials, unfortunately our application was unsuccessful, so with full approval from the Board of Directors and Paul Hennessy it has been agreed to disband the reserve team.
Tony has expressed that should an opportunity become available where we may join a league of the acceptable standard at a later date, then this will be investigated.
In the mean time a number of attractive friendlies have been arranged and details will be available on the official website if you would like to show your support.
Tony would like to take this opportunity again, to thank Paul and Steve for all their hard work and support with the reserves and hope that there will be an opening to stay involved with Dartford Football Club in the future.
